Upon completion of this course, participants will have the knowledge, skills and abilities to:
- Increase situational awareness of the threats presented by the use of IED by enabling participants to:
- Identify basic IED composition to include how they function and how terrorists select possible targets
- Recognize terrorist’s groups to include their goals and objectives in order to become less vulnerable
Classroom based, this course starts by defining the IED and underlining the IED threat in respect to the participants/organizations daily environment. Participants are exposed to IED components and effects. Realistic IED training aids are utilized throughout this course in order to enhance the learning experience. Participants are educated on a brief historical background on terrorist’s threats and trends which leads into how soft targets may be ‘hardened’.
